33C - ASSESS THE DEVELOPMENT OF GEORGIA AS ROYAL COLONY WITHREGARD TO LAND OWNERSHIP, SLAVERY, GOVERNMENT, AND THEIMPACT OF THE ROYAL GOVERNORS
People in the royal colony of Georgia had an acre of land. They didnt own the land but they could use it to plant there plants they want but they had to use a small part of there land to plant mulberry trees.They use these trees to attrace silk worms.
At first the english were not able to own slaves based on the trustees laws. Once the colony was given back to the king the colony was then able to own slaves but before that they were not allowed. After the colony was handed back to the king blacks or slaves were used for hard labor and did not get payed much back then.
After trsustees gave back the colony of georgia back to the colony. There were 3 governors that ruled they all had there different asspect's. There was a popular one, a ok one, and a not so good one. The leaders were John Reyonlds, Henry Ellis,James Wright.
John Reynolds was Georgia's 1st royal govner; he also was a former naval officer. He was one of the most popular govenor of Georgia. And after 3 years the king replaced him with someone else.
Henry Ellis was an explorer prior to being a governo. When he first got there he was concerned about the colonist and in that case after aliitlke while he changed they way they lived. He taught the colonists about self government, bugets, and defense. He was the most popular to the legislature and the colonist.
He was the third governor that was popular and the most successful of all of the georgian governor.Georgia proosper and grew faster than any other colony, under Sir James Wright.
